Success at Elevate

"I love Elevates Indoor Triathlon Training gym. They offer everything you need to train for a triathlon.  Last year I participated in the Indoor Tri Races races at Elevate. I joined a group training program with Greg to get me ready for these races. This was an excellent way to stay motivated during the winter months. "When I moved to Utah last year, completing a half-ironman event, as a trained triathlete, was probably the furthest thing from my mind. When I met Greg at Elevate, he helped me change that.  I have never in my life considered myself an athlete.  I didn't play any sport in high school and I certainly never would have entertained the idea of doing a triathlon.  But then I turned 40 and my husband took up the sport.  Initially I began training just to see what the big deal was.  I've continued training because I love finding out how much I am capable of but never realized!  I feel like every week I learn a little more about myself and I love rising to new challenges with the help of Greg and Elevate.  I've certainly done more in just 6 months than I ever thought I could and now I am excited about setting even higher goals for myself.  I stay with Elevate because it works and it's fun.  I laugh during every workout!  I love the fact that I am learning and accomplishing so much but my priorities get to stay in place - family first and always.  The people at Elevate understand that and help me set and reach goals that work for me and my life.  I tell everyone I know to get over to Elevate and give a "tri" a try!  I've never had so much fun getting in shape! -Kim R (mom and 40 year old triathlete.)

"About a year ago I began tagging along trying to help my buddy Darren train for his first Ironman.  He had been training at Elevate for a while.  I had become interested triathlons about 6 months previous.  I met Greg while he was hosting a spin class where he gave me advice on how to improve many aspects of my training.  I started training with him in December of 2010.  Since starting training with Elevate I have completed three triathlons, in which I have placed in the top of my age group in two, a half ironman (5:16), and a marathon.  I have been able to change my race goal from simply finishing to being competitive and most of all enjoyable.  Greg has provided a vast knowledge on all aspects of training I have experienced.  The most important part of training at Elevate is not just about being with a trainer it is about training with a friend.  If I was to score Greg and Elevate Tri Training I would give them a 10 out of 10. "Greg Phillips and Elevate Triathlon have changed the way I look at working out, getting in and staying in shape. Prior to working with Greg, exercise was a tedious and monotonous task master to be endured but never enjoyed.  I first began working with Greg as a New Year’s resolution to improve my health and lose weight. Like many individuals I’ve made similar resolutions in the past and went to Elevate expecting the same results; I would try for a few weeks and then gradually return to my sedentary lifestyle.  I was referred to Elevate and triathlon training as a means to accomplish my goals. I had no intentions of becoming a triathlete but was looking for a more successful exercise routine. From my first class with Greg I realized that he may actually make it possible for me to achieve this. His coaching sessions are personalized (we work on the things I need to work on), effective and enjoyable. While I’m definitely not an accomplished triathlete, I have recently completed my first sprint triathlon and look forward to continuing to improve under Greg’s coaching.  More importantly, I have been able to develop a sustainable exercise habit.  I highly recommend anyone interested in getting in shape, improving their technique or just wanting a new routine to visit Elevate and Greg." -Kevin W.
